LACTATION SUPPORT:

Our certified lactation consultants are the gold standard experts in lactation who help support lactating persons and their babies. Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) specialize in evaluating both the parental and infant aspects of lactation. Using current evidence based practices, they provide expert guidance on lactation and feeding techniques, address any issues that may arise, and offer personalized advice to ensure both parent and baby are successful and comfortable with feeding. IBCLCs are trained to handle a wide range of challenges, from latching difficulties to managing milk supply, and work closely with families to create a supportive and informed feeding experience.

IBCLC’s evaluate:

  1. Feeding History: Review of past feeding experiences and any previous challenges.

  2. Latch and Positioning: Assessment of how the baby is latching and whether the parent is using effective positioning techniques.

  3. Milk Supply: Evaluation of milk production and signs of adequate milk supply.

  4. Baby’s Feeding Patterns: Analysis of the baby’s feeding frequency, duration, and overall behavior during feedings.

  5. Parent’s Comfort: Discussion of any discomfort or pain the parent might be experiencing during or after breastfeeding.

  6. Baby’s Weight and Growth: Monitoring the baby’s weight gain and growth to ensure they are feeding well.

  7. Milk Transfer: Observing whether the baby is effectively transferring milk from the breast.

  8. Parent’s Health: Assessment of any health issues that could impact feeding, such as infections or hormonal imbalances.

  9. Feeding Goals and Preferences: Understanding the parent’s feeding goals and preferences to provide tailored support.

TESTIMONIAL

“We worked with a Night Owl Nanny and she was WONDERFUL! She helped do sleep training with our 8 month old twin boys who were still waking at 4AM. She was calm, confident, informative, and incredibly helpful! This morning I'm happy to say the boys slept until 6:45! I felt confident right away because Night Owl answered all my questions promptly and screens all of their nannies. I would HIGHLY recommend!”
