Doula Care
Emotional and physical support are crucial before, during, and after childbirth. A Doula can make all the difference. Your Doula will be by your side every step of the way, ensuring the most satisfying and empowering birth and postpartum experience possible. If you are pregnant or a new parent, we invite you to contact Night Owl Nanny Care to learn more about our comprehensive Doula services. Let us provide the support you need during this special time.
DOULA CARE
Doulas are extensively trained to offer support during and after pregnancy, and can offer comfort and guidance during this dynamic time. Together, you will develop a birth plan as you prepare physically and mentally for the delivery of your new baby. Many birthing persons choose a Doula early in their pregnancy, so that they have the same support system throughout their pregnancy, during birth, and after they give birth.
DOULA CARE DURING BIRTH
Doulas provide assistance and advocacy during labor and birth, working to ensure that your birth plan is followed to the extent medically possible. Doulas are very supportive of the decisions that are made by your family, and can help ease the tension and fear that birthing persons often feel about and during labor and delivery.
Your Doula assists with relaxation exercises and labor positions. The extra support will allow your support system to be mentally and emotionally present during the birth. When the baby is born, your Doula will immediately assist with breastfeeding and the other post-birth bonding activities you can enjoy with your child.
DOULA CARE AFTER BIRTH
After the baby has arrived, many parents are interested in extra support to learn how to care for their new bundle of joy. A Doula can assist with the transition from the hospital to your home and serve as an extra set of hands, enabling you to recover and rest after pregnancy and birth. Typical postpartum doula support might include:
Offering breastfeeding knowledge, support, and assistance
Helping with newborn care, such as diaper changes, naps, and feedings
Providing resources to related services, such as birthing classes and mental health care
Helping your family learn and become comfortable with baby soothing and bonding methods
Caring for the baby so parents can take a nap, shower, or eat a meal
Helping with mom's post-birth comfort measures
Offering physical support as mom recovers from a cesarean delivery
Making breakfast, lunch, dinner, or healthy snacks
Keeping mom hydrated and comfortable
QUALITY CARE YOU CAN TRUST
High quality service and safety is our top priority. All Doulas go through an extensive background check. Each of our Doulas are trained and required to have multiple years of newborn care experience, CPR and First Aid certification, and childcare training.
Many of our Doulas are trained in oxygen administration, reflux management, colic care, special needs, and sleep training. Discuss your child’s specific needs with your nanny to ensure alignment with the care provided.
If you are pregnant or have a newborn, then we invite you to contact us to learn more about the services that are available. Our Doulas and Nannies are available to support in any way that you need, and we will cater your service based on your preferences and desires.
