Do you have to do Sleep Training? No, not at all. Everyones goal should be to set up sleep success from the start. This way your little one creates healthy sleep habits on their own and gradually sleeps through the night around 3 months. You’re the parent, and you know what is best for your family. Don’t ever feel pressured into doing a certain sleep training or method you are not comfortable with. Every family has different needs, and that is why each sleep training is catered to your families individual needs.
Is your baby meeting the markers to start Sleep Training?
Every agency and doctor has different recommendations for Sleep Training ages. Please do your research and start when you are comfortable with the age requirements. Some recommendations start at 3 weeks, we start at 3 months (meeting other requirements, to be continued), and some start at 6 months of age. There is no right or wrong answer. It’s what your family agrees on and feels comfortable with.
Weighing 10-12 pounds. 10-12 pounds shows us a healthy weight for them to do 10-12 hours stretches.
Eating 25-32 ounces in the daytime. If your little one is really close to 25 ounces, we can add in a dream feed to help them get the required ounces in the day time.
Now the Tips
I know you’re busy so lets get right to it.
You need a dark room. Black out curtains, cover the camera light, light from the hallway peeking through, it all triggers their little brains when they wake up.
White noise on a healthy level, no higher than 60 DB. You can download an app to confirm it is at a safe level. White noise machines are not monitored safely by the creators. They can go up to levels of 120DB. This recreates the womb noise and can help keep outside noise from disturbing them .
Cluster feed before bedtime. Fill those little tummies up to help give them long stretches.
Bedtime routine of 7-8 things every night, at the same time.

Its important to book as soon as possible to ensure you will be able to work with this amazing team. If you prefer live out care, you will need to pay for the night nurses travel time and gas.
Why do we serve all of Colorado?
Its important for moms to have support. If you live in a rural area you should still have access to postpartum support for you and your baby. Overnights and Sleep Training is a big struggle for not just new moms, but moms with multiple children. We no longer have our villages close by like our mothers had. We want to ensure no matter your location, we will provide support if our team has availability.

We want you to be comfortable with the service and the night nanny in our home. All of our team goes through background checks, drug screens, immunization requirements, 3 years of newborn experience, and in depth reference check.
We have all been affected with the Coronavirus. We at Night Owl are abiding by all covid-19 guidelines when running a small business. Why are we essential? Birth and postpartum doulas support baby and Mom. A healing mom is essential after birth. We care for Mom and baby over night and during the day to help the family as a whole. Changing diapers, feedings, breastfeeding support, light housework, meal prep, sleep support and more.
How can we help you remotely
We offer video support for new moms and sleep training online. Grocery shopping, meal prep and drop off, video chat to discuss what baby and mom may need, we create a plan together to help that come to fruition. We can address sleep issues, how to get longer stretches, or even train you how to Sleep Train your infant or toddler to sleep 10-12 hours a night.
Our team is quarantined, staying inside, cleaning surfaces, door handles, steering wheels, taking all safety measures to stay healthy and able to work inside or outside your families home. They shower, and put on fresh clean clothes before arriving to your home. They will wash their hands as usual but more frequent. Shoes taken off at the front door. Temperatures taken daily. We want to keep your family and our Doulas families safe and healthy.

Everyone in your home feels a 100% comfortable with newborns and your postpartum care. Rest and health is essential for a recovering momma. Our goal is to get you as much sleep as possible.
Our team cares about our credibility. We want you to have a great experience. We are in charge of your most precious beings. We want you and your infant to feel cared for and rest easy knowing you have a certified, genuine, and reliable Night Nanny in your home. Having a new baby is a blessing, but a very exhausting. The one problem new moms suffer from after coming out of the delivery room is catching a good nights rest, without any interruptions. While most moms with newborn babies think they can do it all, lack of sleep is detrimental to a woman recovering after giving birth.
Now, there is a solution, they’re called night nannies. These professional ladies will help you manage your babies at night so that you can sleep well and bond as needed with your baby during the day.
What is a night nanny?
Night nannies, maternity nurses, or baby whisperer; are women that help care for your baby throughout the night while you enjoy some recovery sleep.
Their responsibility centers on taking care of the baby, feeding them, changing the diaper, hushing them to sleep, and keeping them calm all night till the morning.
It is a full day’s job for a night you might say; however, for mothers that intend to use this service to care for their baby, caution is the keyword when looking for the right night nanny to care for your precious loved ones.
5 tips to ease the stress of searching for the right night nanny
Ask, Ask and Ask some more
Your baby is very precious, and leaving them in the hands of a stranger just to catch sleep is not worth it if the wrong choice is made.
Therefore, ask around, ask friends that have tried it, join parenting community online or seek information at a hospital or childcare center about night nannies and if there is a recommended group, society or person that can suitably fit into your home and in your baby’s life.
Check how much experience the night nanny has?
While some programs and establishments provide certifications for learning how to be a night nanny, it is an extra positive to have one that has worked with children (a nurse is even better), a mother (a great option). These two criteria are added values that will enable you to make the right choice.
Has some form of child’s health knowledge
Babies are unpredictable, a sound and healthy baby can go from playful to running a temperature. If you are looking to hire a night nurse, she must have some knowledge of child health, especially how to perform CPR, basic first-aid treatment and when to dial 911 for help.
Compassionate and stamina
Caring for newborns is exhausting- waking up during your sleep can be mentally draining and overwhelming, hence your night nanny should have the stamina to keep up with your baby’s habits.
So if you have a fussy baby, your night nanny must be compassionate with enough positive energy that will calm your baby and put your mind at rest.
We’ve got you covered
Do you need a night nanny but don’t know where or how to start? Well, don’t worry, we have you covered. When you come to us for a night nanny for your newborn, we will provide you with all the background and reference information to you for the night nanny of your choice.
Furthermore, all the nannies on our team have an excellent track record with an experience of more than three years caring for babies as night nannies.
Your night nanny will feed, burp, and snuggle baby back to sleep. They will tend to your babies cries. Your night nurse will change diapers and take out dirty diaper pales. Rock, swaddle and assist you with any extra hands you may need overnight.
Night Nanny chores
A night nanny will do anything baby and mommy related. Baby laundry, cleaning and sterilizing bottles/pump equipment, and tidy nursery. Restock the nursery and changing station. Night nannies will get you water, tea, or snack while you breastfeed or pump. If you have a special request, just talk to your doula or newborn care specialist about your overnight needs.
Your night nurse also sleeps. If baby is cared for, chores are complete, your doula or NBCS will rest while baby is resting. Studies show resting while baby rest not only helps baby sleep better, but also helps your night nanny to perform and exceed at their nightly duties.
Let us help you find the perfect Night Nanny for your family. We have a great team of Doulas and Newborn Care Specialist. Everyone is a Sleep Trainer with years of experience.
If there’s one thing that’s almost as synonymous with new babies as excitement and joy, it’s sleep deprivation – it’s not uncommon for newborns to wake up needing a feed, diaper change, and cuddles every three hours or so during the night. After the marathon of pregnancy and labor, the first few weeks with a new baby at home can be exhausting and highly emotional for new mothers, and stressful for new dads.
Why Night Nannies are needed more
With more and more new families living away from traditional helpers like grandparents and extended family, a night nanny can help get your new family off to a healthy start. Our night nannies can support you with breastfeeding (or bottle feeding for you while you sleep through the night), changing diapers, swaddling and settling your baby. They will also quietly do essential chores around the house like washing, folding and putting away your infant’s laundry, washing and sterilizing bottles/pumping equipment, taking out smelly diaper pails, and even helping you with your baby’s first baths.
