As the days move on you will find your support team may have gone back to work and or think you’ve got it.

The nurses at the hospital should have lots of knowledge to help with latching and milk supply. If your problems arise after you are home, your night nurse and or doula should have plenty of tips to guide you to success. Still having difficulties? Reach out to your local lactation source. They can be found at hospitals and community events for moms. Most insurance should cover your lactation consult. Check with your insurance to see who is in your network.

Breastfeeding Help

Relax! Babies can feed off your stress and in return makes them stressed. 30 years ago docs had moms drink a beer to relax them and have the milk supply arrive. This trick is still used today. Obviously, pump and dump that first supply after beer.

Sometimes baby isn’t hungry. Offer breast when you and baby are calm. A lot of the times baby gets frustrated when mom is forcing a feeding and baby actually is just tired. Relax, enjoy, and read your babies cues.
